Holding Breath

Everyone breaths. What is the shape of breath?

This work was exhibited at KODE as a part of the annual craft exhibition and consists of a table 400x70x100 cm. with a rough surface and 9 individual Expressions of breath.

The piece is co-creational in the sense of the audience being invited to develop/change/transform the art work through holding and touching the glass sculptures and through this, leave traces at the surface of the glass.

The glass sculptures - Expressions of breath - are made by breathing into a gather of molten glass. The material responds by its own "breath", which becomes visible as sunken traces in the cooled glass.

Holding breath was awarded the The Craft Prize from The Relief Fund for Visual Artists (BKH)
